The reality

Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.

Across rural India, bright children are held back not by ability — but by a lack of access to technology and quality teaching.

251M

251 million children and youth worldwide remain out of school — their dreams stifled by barriers to education that perpetuate cycles of poverty and inequality.

UNESCO · The gap Project Gyan exists to close, one village at a time.
Our approach

A simple model that lasts

We don't give once and leave. We equip, teach, and sustain — so impact compounds. Read our mission →

Equip

Laptops, internet access and learning materials placed directly into students' hands — bridging the digital divide.

Teach

Dedicated teachers appointed to deliver foundational computer and digital skills — not a one-off workshop.

Sustain

A trusted local partner ensures programs continue, with every contribution tracked and reported back to donors.

Yuvraj Khanna, 17-year-old founder of Project Gyan, speaking to the press at the inauguration
The story · a bridge between two countries

Started by a 17-year-old who refused to wait

Yuvraj Khanna is an Indian-American student at St. Francis in the USA. On a visit to his father's birthplace near Varanasi, he saw bright children with no access to the technology he took for granted.

So he acted — running a crowdfunding campaign and turning it into laptops, teachers and a future for a rural classroom.

"Age is no barrier to impact. Education is the one gift that keeps giving — across borders, across generations."
